In-the-Metal
Slip Resistant Steel Floor Plate
Superior safety and increased pedestrian comfort. |
 |
| In-the-Metal
Slip Resistant Steel Floor Plate
is
designed to assure safety in the workplace. Each of the laser deposits
on the surface of the plate is individually welded into the plate
matrix and is tested to have superior adhesion, thereby eliminating
flaking or peeling. Each deposit is quickly fused to the plate in
a way that minimizes heat buildup over the entire plate. This eliminates
warpage, associated with products made using flame spray or mill
rolling technologies. In-the-Metal
Slip Resistant Steel Floor Plate
products are manufactured with recycled materials and are themselves
fully recyclable. Unlike other slip-resistant floor products, there
is no generation of smoke, overspray, hazardous or solid waste connected
with their manufacture.

| The
unique and well defined matrix of In-the-Metal
Slip Resistant Steel Floor Plate laser deposits
provide unparalleled slip-resistance in all directions.
The standard
0.31 inch x 0.38 inch staggered matrix allows appropriate spacing
for shoe soles and vehicular wheels to completely encircle and
"grab" the deposits.
With more than 1000 deposits per square foot, In-the-Metal
Slip Resistant Steel Floor Plate provides
superior safety and increased pedestrian comfort.
For applications
where ergonomics are a paramount concern, In-the-Metal
Slip Resistant Steel Floor Plate offers a
safe, unique solution.
The value
of In-the-Metal
Slip Resistant Steel Floor Plate to a safety
program might be quantified by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics
data which concludes that slips and falls account for over 20%
of work-related injuries. |
|
| |
| The
durability of In-the-Metal
Slip Resistant Steel Floor Plate originates
with the substrate selected. It is available in Carbon Steel, Stainless
Steel, Aluminum and other alloy metals, in 14 gauge ASTM-A-569 steel,
to any thickness of ASTM A-36 steel for structural applications,
or in the alloy and thickness that you require. In-the-Metal
Slip Resistant Steel Floor Plate provides the
best slip resistant flooring available. |
| |
|
|
| While
these durable steel substrates provide a solid foundation for
the finished product, substrate strength is only the beginning!
The
true life-cycle of safety floor plates is traditionally determined
not by the substrate, but rather slip-resistant properties generated
by the traction surface. The traction providing laser depositions
on In-the-Metal
Slip Resistant Steel Floor Plate have been
tested for hardness and adherence by independent testing laboratories
and these results assure that this generation of flooring will
provide unsurpassed service life. |
 |
| Laboratory
analysis has measured the hardness of In-the-Metal
Slip Resistant Steel Floor Plate traction
providing custom alloy laser depositions at up to 60 on the
Rockwell C Scale. Under the heaviest pedestrian or vehicular
traffic, these deposits will provide continuous, safe, effective
service. (Be reminded, that similar to all abrasive surface
steel safety floor plates, In-the-Metal
Slip Resistant Steel Floor Plate should
not be installed in areas subject to steel-wheeled vehicular
traffic.)
The
cross-sectional photograph above illustrates the deep penetration
of the symmetrical laser deposition into the steel substrate.
Laboratory tested, the deposition penetrates the steel substrate
and is enclosed by a strengthened heat affected zone. The resulting
bond strength combined with the proven deposition hardness provides
unsurpassed durability regardless of wear or abrasion.

One
of the greatest advantages of In-the-Metal
Slip Resistant Steel Floor Plate is that
it can be easily manufactured into finished components using
common metal working tools & techniques. |

 |
 |
| Punching
& Drilling |
Welding |
Forming |
| In-the-Metal
Slip Resistant Steel Floor Plate is
easily punched or drilled to accommodate fastening devices
or bolted installations where the plate is required to be
removable. |
Both
the top traction surface and the bottom bearing surfaces
can be easily welded without damaging the slip-resistant
walking surface. |
The
excellent adhesion of the skid resistant deposits allow
for clean forming of the plate without cracking or delaminating
the traction surface. |

 |
 |
 |
| Countersinking |
Shearing |
Flame
Cutting |
| Common
metalworking tools can be used to countersink the In-the-Metal
Slip Resistant Steel Floor Plate steel
substrate. Countersunk fastening eliminates potential tripping
hazards created by protruding fastening devices. |
In-the-Metal
Slip Resistant Steel Floor Plate can
be fabricated to size by economical mechanical shearing
without cracking or damaging the safety providing traction
surface. |
Intricate
or radial cuts are easily accomplished using common oxygen-acetylene
or plasma gas cutting tools. |
